I am currently a 4th year Biology student at the University of Victoria. In my spare time I enjoy working on my 66 MGB and my 78 Moto Morini 3 1/2 Strada.
I picked up the Morini through a friend of mine. He bought it rode it only for 4 months, then garaged it. Two years later it was mine. I have never ridden bikes before (on the road that is), and decided that it was something that I would like to get into. I have been restoring a 66 MGB and thought that a motor bike might not be that hard to restore. Well as usual I underestimated and it is going to be more work than I thought. I had no manuals, parts, or information on the bike besides what I had been told by the previous owner. This did not amount to much! It looked as though I had wasted my money on a bike that had a flat tire and was running on one cylinder. This is where the other bike owners come in.
I managed (via the internet) to get a hold of a few guys that owned Morinis. These owners then turned out to be the best info. sources that I could have asked for. One fellow in the Netherlands even offered to send me the manuals and parts that I needed!! (Thanks again Tony!) I am now well on the way to getting the bike running and have parts ordered from the States. Any day now I should get the parts that I need to repair the carburetors, and have the bike running. The new tires have been ordered and should be mounted soon (Thanks to Mike from Apex in Victoria). I can't wait to go for the first ride!!!! I just hope that the weather holds.
I will try to keep this site updated and continue to have pictures of the tear down and rebuild of the bike available to see.
