The Ottawa Orchid Society's aim is to promote interest, awareness and knowledge of orchids, both by encouraging conservation of Canada's native orchids and by supporting culture and propagation of tropical orchid species and hybrids.

The Ottawa Orchid Society was founded about 20 years ago by a small number of enthusiasts, eager to share their passion - growing orchids. From this small beginning, the society has expanded to a group of nearly 200 people whose interests range from growing and showing their prize orchids to conservation of both native Canadian and tropical species.

The Society welcomes anyone with an interest in orchids to its regular meetings (held monthly throughout the winter), and also to its annual show and sale (held each spring). If you are wanting to buy orchids, several members also have orchid nurseries and offer plants for sale.
