Theories on the Aliens Universe
As many Aliens fans will agree, the Aliens universe if filled with many unanswered questions.
So, I'm dedicating this section to theories of the Aliens universe. Along with fellow Aliens fan
Sir Danzig, we'll be posting our own thoughts and ideas
about many aspects of the Aliens and the universe that they belong to. Bare in mind that these
are only theories, and are not claimed to be fact. Some theories may even contradict one another,
but we figure that you can draw your own conclusions and choose which one sounds best.

One question that has been asked over and over again is how an Alien can have concentrated
acid for blood? The answer is quite simple in theory. The Aliens blood on it's own is not, I
repeat NOT acidic. It only bares an acidic state when exposed to oxygen. Their lungs filter
out the necessary hydrogen that their bodies require to function. This therefore makes them more
able to adapt to their surrounding as hydrogen is more readily available than oxygen, which was
proven in the Alien Resurection underwater scene. They can breathe pure water, and then filter
out the oxygen. After all, the planet they are beleived to have originated from was mostly water.
This would also explain how they manage to survive in deep space. Hydrogen is everywhere. This
seems to make the most sense.

- Have any of you noticed how in Alien 4 (Reserection), when Ripley cuts herself in the gym and
bleeds on the floor, her acidic blood does not burn her skin? This has led us both to believe that
the Aliens, and Ripley #8's skin may contain compounds similiar to those found in the stomach lining
that break up and dissolve acid. This could also explain why the Aliens don't melt themselves when
shot. Acid-proof skin. And we thought the boots were impressive!

- I have another theory to the above mentioned. I think it would be probable to assume that
the Aliens secretion is what may prevent the acid from damaging themselves. As well all know, the
Aliens produce a slime that emanates from the mouth, and usually covers them completely. I think
that this secretion is their own defense against the consequences of their oxygen exposed blood.
It can almost be proven by looking at the hive in Aliens, or any other hive in the Aliens universe.
The structure of the hive itself is made up from bits and pieces of fallen hosts, bile, and other
lovely stuff. Then it's all held together with the Alien secretion. Now, whenever combat has taken
place within a hive, the hive walls itself have not been damaged by the spraying acid. We know the
acid eats through flesh, bone, metal, etc. We can only assume it's the secretion.
