Oh yeah.....
MA is the property of DIC Inc. None of the characters that I used below belong to me except for Osiris and Cammi.
Snoring softly in his sarcophagus, Rath twitched back and forth, nightmares flashing across his mind.
"Armon......don't touch the scrolls.......clumsy little...." his moanings went unheard by the others.
A precense seemed to fill the room outside. Mist swirled about, and a figure began to take shape. Nut? Geb? Neither.
Osiris' bandages were beginning to itch badly. She wished she hadn't left Khati with the Prince; it seemed comforting to have the adorable black kitty snuggled at the base of her sarcophagus and purring softly.
Suddenly, a crash followed outside. There was a female's loud shriek of fright, an indignant, disturbed, "Mrrrreeaaowww!" and the squeaking of many sarcophogi opening.
Ja-kal, Armon, Rath, Nefer-tina and Osiris stepped from their sarcophogi, yawning and stretching but otherwise alert and all alarmed.
"What was that?" Ja-kal asked, his voice still hoarse from sleep.
Everybody began speaking at once until finally order was restored. Rath crossed his arms over his chest and muttered sleepily, "I suggest everyone tell their own side of the story. Then we'll see who broke this........uh......MY SCROLLS!"
Indeed, Rath's precious scrolls had been torn and mutilated so that they looked like mere peices of junk lying all over the sphinx. The crash had most likely come from the Osiris' broken vase in the corner; the only momento that she had of home. But that wasn't it. Trunks were lying turned over, the table had been badly damaged and much more.
Suddenly, something moved in the corner. An eye looked out at them. Then, two eyes.
"It's, uh, safe now?"
"Cammi! what are you doing here?" Osiris hissed. A slender figure made from mists slid silently out of the corner. "Huh, guardian of the Gates, scared of noises," Osiris added.
Cammi snorted indignantly. "Just coming over to see you! Jeez..."
Ja-kal sighed wearily. "All right, just everyone tell me where you were and what you were doing.........."
"Eeew," Nefer-tina complained. "The floors got loose wrappings all over it."
"Just get on with it..."
"Khati? How did you get here?" Questioned Nefer-tina. Khati seemed to smile up at them and say, 'I dunno.'
"Hey, look over here," Armon pointed out. "I think Khati destroyed your scrolls, Rath. Her clawmarks are all over the table! And...your scrolls, that is."
"Yes, but Khati WAS near the door when we found her," Ja-kal countered.
"Look people, I have to go soon, so make this quick," Cammi complained. Rath glanced at her, annoyed.
Cammi stepped backwards. "I'll admit to having caused some minor disturbances with magic in the sphinx, but I couldn't have caused ALL of this to happen!"
