Uniform and Inspection Point Requirements For those of you who are new to our Pack our uniform consists of:
We provide the necker, woggle, epaulettes, and crests for the uniform. As well, for each meeting we require the Cubs to bring their Cub Book, paper/notebook and a pencil. A backpack is handy to carry these items and to take home any notes, crafts or handouts from the meetings. We conduct a point competition between the Sixes throughout the year. Points are lost for items not brought to the meeting or uniform items which are worn improperly. Dues Our Cub Pack has a system of weekly dues: Dues are intended to teach the Cubs responsibility. Perhaps it is a bit much to expect 8, 9, and 10 year olds to remember which is the first meeting of the month and then to remember to bring dues. It is not however asking too much to expect them to remember that they are to bring dues to every meeting. The dues amount is $1.00 per week. The monies collected help provide supplies for the cub pack. Meeting Times and Location Mohawk Pack The above meeting time and location are effective as of September 2000 If there are changes to the meeting times and locations, we will send home notices advising you of these changes. Newsletters and Consent Forms Again this year, we will be handing out Newsletters, Notices and Consent Forms at the end of the meetings, please make sure that you check with your cub and/or the leader at the door before you leave to ensure you have received any notices. If you do not get and read the information we provide, your son be unable to attend some pack activities and you may miss important information regarding meeting time and location changes. While it is our responsibility to make sure that you are provided with the information you need regarding events and activities, I must remind you that it is YOUR responsibility to ensure that permission forms and fees are returned on time. Planning and organizing many of these activities takes more time than you might realize; revising the plans to accommodate late applications makes things difficult. As well, sometimes we are given registration deadlines ourselves by the Regional Scouting Group and thus may not be able to accept late registrations even if we want to. Parental Assistance Needed As always we rely on a complement of parent helpers to augment our official leadership team. In the past we have had a few long-time parent helpers who could always be counted on to come out and help for things like Star and Badge nights or camps. This year we have an experienced leadership team but some of the parents who came out so often are now not available as their cubs have moved on to Scouts. We are therefore asking that some new parent helpers step forward as volunteers. Specifically, that parents make a commitment to come out to help with Star and Badge Night; to take a turn driving to or from camp and/or to coming along to a camp as a camp helper. We wont need to call on all of you for all of these jobs and we also recognize that there are valid reasons why some of you wont be able to help out in all these areas. The leadership team is already doing our part, planning activities and attending almost every meeting; please help us to provide our Wolf Cubs with the kind of program they deserve!
Once again, we welcome everyone and we are looking forward to a great year of Cubbing! Akela
