October-November
2000
Welcome to our new
Akela
Our Akela for the Wolf Cub Pack this year will be Paul Green. He comes to us
with 9 years of experience running a cub pack in Scarborough, Ontario. Akela
Paul is excited to be with us this year and plans lots of FUN cubbing for
the upcoming year. We are lucky to have him with us. Welcome!
Apple Day coming soon!
Apple Day for 2000 will be on Friday and Saturday, October 13-14. We will
have a special handout for you on this event. Check it for full details.
Please make every effort to come out for this, as it is our major fund
raising effort for the scouting year.
Halloween Party
On Thursday, October 26 we will hold our Wolf Cubs Halloween party. Get
your best costume ready and show us your scary stuff! See you there!
Fun In the Fall 2000
This event will take place on Saturday, October 28 at Meadowvale Conservation Area. We
had a great time! ...and what an excellent day too! The sun was shining, the sky was blue
and the fun was definitely there...
Investiture of new Wolf Cubs
On Thursday, November 2 we will be investing the new cubs that have
recently joined us.
They must have their uniforms by this night in order to participate in the
investitures ceremony. Parents are invited to attend to watch and bring
your cameras etc.
Hathi will be around… now and then
One of our leaders, Hathi, has moved away again to continue to attend
University. We miss him when he is not with us but he will come out and
attend our meetings/camps as his schedule allows. See you soon Hathi!
"Kim"
from the Scout Troop
One of the scouts from the Thunderbird Scout Troop will be coming out to
the Mohawk Pack meetings again this year as a helper. This is Shaun Hollinshead. His Wolf
Cub pack name will be "Kim" as this is the traditional name for
the Scout that comes to the Wolf Cub Pack as a helper. He was invested to this position at the
February 10, 2000 meeting. Congratulations!
Mohawk: E-mail Addresses
We would still like to continue collecting parent or cub e-mail addresses, as we
want to provide e-mail information bulletins of non-urgent nature to communicate some of our activities. Should you wish to participate in this initiative please send or leave your current e-mail address with
Bagheera.
Parents required for leadership
We are still canvassing for new leaders for this year. Can you spare an
hour a week for your Wolf Cub? Two of our leaders have moved on to the
Scout group with their sons. Scouts Canada requires a certain ratio (6:1)
of cubs to leaders. At least two to three new leaders are required to
create/maintain this ratio. Contact Akela-Paul Green for details on
helping out as a uniformed leader with the Mohawk Pack. Come out and have
fun with us! Give us a call…
Cubs are invited to check the Cub Corner of the site. The website News Area will provide the current info on our activities and all our
Leader Contact info (phone numbers and e-mail addresses) is easily available to you should you need it.
